Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok opens as the first Vignette Collection hotel in Asia

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Siam Sindhorn Co., Limited crown Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok as the first Vignette Collection hotel to open in Asia. Vignette Collection is IHG’s newest Luxury & Lifestyle collection brand, delivering stays that are authentic, experiential and considerate. Located in the bustling city of Bangkok, the hotel’s location at Langsuan offers convenient access to prime districts such as Sukhumvit, Silom, Siam and Chidlom.

Vignette Collection hotels are unique in their own right; each has their own distinct outlook and story to tell. Yet, the hotels are connected by a shared vision that travel can benefit local people and places. Daily complimentary rituals at each property create a sense of anticipation and connection and meet a growing demand for more thoughtful travel experiences.

Sindhorn Midtown offers a one-of-a-kind stay, creating a sanctuary in the heart of Bangkok by infusing elements of the city into the guest experience. A complimentary Lao Khao shot is served with a mixed selection of pickled fruits between 5pm and 6pm daily, bringing guests closer to the soul of Bangkok and setting them up for an evening of exploration. Younger guests can dial the Emergency Popsicle Line located on the hotel’s second floor to receive a complimentary iced treat, delivered promptly by a dedicated Popsicle Butler.

Designed by award-winning strategic design firm, Eight Inc., contemporary design, laidback elegance and the striking local art come together at Sindhorn Midtown. Punctuating the minimalist lobby space, an incredible textile masterpiece by Thai artist, Kachama Perez, epitomizes the hotel’s commitment to supporting Thai craftsmanship. Kachama acquired her advanced dying and weaving skills during time spent in the mountains of Northern Thailand with the Karen tribe. Shiny strands of recycled aluminum are woven between the indigo threads, depicting the negative human impacts on marine life and encouraging dialogue on ocean conservation.

Vignette Collection hotels prioritise creating and cherishing a sense of place. With this in mind, local design studio, P49 Deesign utilised the story of the Bangkok Tram to enhance the design of the hotel’s lobby area. From the 1920’s until 1968, the Silom line would pass Ratchadamri Road – just moments from Sindhorn Midtown – before terminating at Pratunam intersection. Dark metal symbolised tram tracks that previously ran by the hotel, and is applied to the front desk at the hotel lobby by P49 Deesign.

Each of its 393 rooms feature large format bathroom amenities from Karl Lagerfeld and modern comforts such as Fritz Hansen’s iconic Drop™ chairs. The Fitness Centre offers panoramic city views, as does the Horizon Pool, which is located on the 18th floor. Works by Fine Art Photographer, Visarute Angkatavanich, whose image of a Siamese fighting fish was launched on the iPhone 6s in 2015, can be found on every floor.

The hotel recently introduced three new eclectic dining offerings; The Black Cat is an atmospheric Thai Liquor bar, with live band playing on selected evenings. Inspired by the golden age of Thailand, Bangkok’78 presents the city’s greatest culinary hits in a retro-inspired concept, whilst Sip & Co. is a chic addition to Langsuan’s flourishing café culture.

Recognising the importance of ensuring quality education to the leaders of tomorrow, Sindhorn Midtown is proud to partner with the Kuvanant Foundation; their aim is to provide educational opportunities for local students and those living with disabilities in rural areas of Thailand. Upon checking in, guests are encouraged to donate USD$1 to the foundation. The hotel will be providing internship opportunities for students from the foundation to earn first-hand experience and career opportunities, insights into the hospitality industry.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

The Graphic Designer  will be responsible for creating visual elements, such as images, illustrations, and text, to communicate messages through digital, print, and other types of media.  

 

Experience:  2 years at minimum

Employment Type: Full time

 

SCOPE OF WORK

– Design advertising assets for marketing materials, digital banner/illustration for social channels, marketing documents

– Support editing, creating effects, video clips at basic functions

– Support activities that require proper visual such as Photography, filming, set-up, ..

– Support internal team to generate design ideas for content and marketing layout

 

QUALIFICATIONS

– At least 2-year experiences working in the same position (experience in agency is a plus)

– Excel in design software like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

– Able to convey message / idea into design

 – Must have an creative “eye” to match client’s design guideline/style

– Supportive  and Proactive in working with minimum supervision

– Able to work under pressure to meet deadline

– English speaking is preferable

 

VIETNAMESE COPY WRITER

  • Monitoring  news on newspapers, magazines, online media for opportunities for clients
  • Preparing client reports by daily, weekly, monthly
  • Developing media materials, including news releases, client meeting summaries, articles quarterly/annual report and other written materials in English and Vietnamese
  • Supporting planning, developing and implementing PR plan
  • Building and maintaining media relations
  • Preparing and supervising the production of promotional videos, photographs, and multimedia programs upon request;
  • Supporting  organizing and managing client events, including press conferences, media tour,  promotional client events
  • Managing vendors to control production quality  on behalf of client
  • Collating, analyzing and measuring coverage outcomes

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proactive, quick minded, attention to details personality
  • Good copy writing skill
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese
  • Have the interest and drive to learn how to master the core skills and capabilities needed to deliver all aspects of a campaign
  • Design experience would be an advantage
  • Related experience in agency environment preferred

ACCOUNT MANAGER

This position is a key member of the team involving and managing multiple client accounts. While leading and supervising junior staff’s workload, Consultant (or as Account Manager) will be also seen directly managing (or supporting Senior Consultant with) wide range of clients, handling their public reputation through different PR campaigns.

Experience:  A minimum of 3-5 year PR experience in working in Corporate or Agency

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Structuring and implementing PR campaigns and media content, aligning them with the client’s key business objectives
  • Develop media materials, including news releases, articles and other written materials
  • Develop and maintain relationship with media network
  • Liaise with clients and act as key point of contact in support of senior consultants
  • Identify new business opportunities, and sell ideas, promotions and features to clients
  • Manage workloads of multiple projects
  • Organize and manage client events, including press conferences, media tour, promotional client events
  • Manage and supervise the production of promotional videos, photographs, and multimedia programmes upon request;
  • Supervise Account Executive’s workload, provide leadership and direction to the team on key activities and campaigns.
  • Keep track of impending deadlines and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work is completed on time and within budget
  • Track and reconcile project fee and expense budgets
  • Assist in the reporting, analysis and evaluation of PR campaigns
  • Monitor news on newspapers, magazines, online media for opportunities for clients
