Vietnam Airlines Selects 50 Boeing 737 MAX Airplanes to Grow its Fleet

Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Vietnam Airlines announced today the carrier has selected the 737 MAX family to expand its single-aisle fleet, with a commitment to order 50 737-8 airplanes. With enhanced fuel efficiency and environmental performance, the 737 MAX will provide best-in-class flexibility for Vietnam’s growing aviation market. The commitment was announced during a signing ceremony with President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, White House officials and Vietnamese government leaders on Monday, Sept. 11.

U.S. and Vietnam officials said the commitment will bolster jobs in both countries and strengthen the bilateral economic partnership. Building on Boeing’s long history of collaboration with Vietnam’s civil aviation industry, the carrier’s 737 MAX fleet will support the country’s goal of becoming a leading aviation hub.

“In line with Vietnam Airlines’ 2025-2030 fleet strategy and a vision to 2035, aircraft investment is a crucial project that underpins positive recovery momentum and prosperous outlook for the airline, said Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines. “The new narrow-body fleet will allow us to foster our overall development and extend our high-quality service on Vietnam Airlines’ domestic and Asian routes, as well as modernize our fuel-efficient fleet.”

“Southeast Asia is one of the world’s fastest growing aviation markets, and the 737 MAX is the perfect airplane for Vietnam Airlines to efficiently meet that regional demand,” said Brad McMullen, Boeing senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing. “We value our historic partnership with Vietnam Airlines, dating back to 1995 when the airline first leased 767s.”

Since the launch, more than 100 customers around the world have placed firm orders for more than 5,600 737 MAX airplanes. The 737 MAX reduces fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% and has a smaller noise footprint than airplanes it replaces. The jets offer increased comfort and relaxation for passengers, with modern sculpted sidewalls, LED lighting that enhances the sense of spaciousness and larger pivoting overhead storage bins.

The 737 MAX family will allow Vietnam Airlines to fly up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km) to serve increasingly popular international and regional routes. The carrier currently operates a fleet of 15 787 Dreamliner jets and serves over 50 destinations in 17 countries. A member of the SkyTeam Alliance, passengers flying on Vietnam Airlines or any of its 18 partners can earn and redeem miles for travel to 1,000 destinations worldwide.

Vietnam Airlines chọn mua 50 máy bay Boeing 737 MAX để mở rộng đội bay

Hôm nay, Boeing [NYSE: BA] và hãng hàng không quốc gia Vietnam Airlines vừa công bố việc lựa chọn dòng máy bay 737 MAX phục vụ cho chiến lược tăng trưởng đội máy bay thân hẹp của Vietnam Airlines, với cam kết đặt mua 50 chiếc máy bay 737-8. Nhờ vào sự tăng cường hiệu năng tiết kiệm nhiên liệu và thân thiện môi trường, máy bay 737 MAX sẽ đem lại khả năng linh hoạt tối ưu trong phân khúc cho thị trường hàng không Việt Nam đang tăng trưởng. Cam kết này được công bố trong buổi lễ ký kết ngày thứ Hai 11 tháng 9 năm 2023, với sự hiện diện của Tổng thống Hoa Kỳ Joe Biden, Ngoại trưởng Antony Blinken, các quan chức Nhà Trắng cùng với lãnh đạo chính phủ Việt Nam.

Giới chức Hoa Kỳ và Việt Nam cho biết thương vụ này sẽ giúp tạo ra nhiều việc làm ở cả hai quốc gia và củng cố quan hệ kinh tế song phương. Tiếp nối lịch sử nhiều năm hợp tác giữa Boeing và Việt Nam trong ngành hàng không dân dụng, đội bay 737 MAX sẽ giúp Việt Nam hiện thực hoá mục tiêu trở thành một cửa ngõ hàng không hàng đầu trong khu vực.

“Đồng hành với chiến lược phát triển đội bay giai đoạn 2025-2030 và tầm nhìn đến năm 2035 của Vietnam Airlines, việc đầu tư đổi mới đội bay là một dự án thiết yếu làm nền tảng cho đà phục hồi khả quan và xây dựng tương lai thịnh vượng của hãng hàng không quốc gia,” ông Đặng Ngọc Hoà, Chủ tịch Hội đồng quản trị Vietnam Airlines chia sẻ. “Đội máy bay thân hẹp mới sẽ giúp Vietnam Airlines thúc đẩy sự phát triển tổng thể và nâng cấp, mở rộng quy mô dịch vụ chất lượng cao trên các đường bay quốc nội và Châu Á, cũng như hiện đại hoá đội bay hiện đại, tiết kiệm năng lượng.”

“Đông Nam Á là một trong những thị trường hàng không phát triển nhanh nhất thế giới, và 737 MAX là dòng máy bay lý tưởng giúp Vietnam Airlines đáp ứng hiệu quả nhu cầu trong khu vực,” ông Brad McMullen, Phó chủ tịch phụ trách Kinh doanh và Tiếp thị thương mại của tập đoàn Boeing phát biểu. “Chúng tôi trân trọng mối quan hệ hợp tác lịch sử với Vietnam Airlines, vốn khởi đầu từ năm 1995 khi hãng hàng không quốc gia Việt Nam thuê những chiếc máy bay 767 đầu tiên.”

Kể từ khi ra mắt 737 MAX, hơn 100 hãng hàng không trên toàn thế giới đã đặt hàng cố định mua trên 5.600 máy bay thuộc dòng này. So với thế hệ máy bay tiền nhiệm, 737 MAX tiêu thụ nhiên liệu và xả thải ít hơn 20%, đồng thời cũng có độ ồn thấp hơn. Dòng máy bay này đem lại mức độ tiện nghi và thoải mái vượt trội cho hành khách, vách khoang máy bay được sản xuất tinh tế, hệ thống chiếu sáng bằng đèn LED giúp tăng cảm giác rộng rãi, và khoang hành lý trên đầu có sức chứa lớn hơn.

Dòng máy bay 737 MAX sẽ giúp Vietnam Airlines đạt tầm bay đến 3.500 hải lý (6.480 km) nhằm phục vụ các đường bay quốc tế và khu vực ngày càng đông hành khách. Hiện hãng đang khai thác một đội bay 15 chiếc 787 Dreamliner, phục vụ hơn 50 điểm đến tại 17 quốc gia. Là thành viên của Liên minh hàng không SkyTeam, hành khách bay với Vietnam Airlines hoặc bất kỳ hãng nào trong số 18 hãng đối tác đều có thể tích luỹ và đổi dặm bay, du lịch đến 1.000 điểm đến trên toàn thế giới.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

The Graphic Designer  will be responsible for creating visual elements, such as images, illustrations, and text, to communicate messages through digital, print, and other types of media.  

 

Experience:  2 years at minimum

Employment Type: Full time

 

SCOPE OF WORK

– Design advertising assets for marketing materials, digital banner/illustration for social channels, marketing documents

– Support editing, creating effects, video clips at basic functions

– Support activities that require proper visual such as Photography, filming, set-up, ..

– Support internal team to generate design ideas for content and marketing layout

 

QUALIFICATIONS

– At least 2-year experiences working in the same position (experience in agency is a plus)

– Excel in design software like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

– Able to convey message / idea into design

 – Must have an creative “eye” to match client’s design guideline/style

– Supportive  and Proactive in working with minimum supervision

– Able to work under pressure to meet deadline

– English speaking is preferable

 

VIETNAMESE COPY WRITER

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

This position supports senior staff with agency’s client work across a diverse range of sectors. Not only will creative writing and translating skills need to be qualified but Account Executive also needs a good grasp of online social media practices.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Monitoring  news on newspapers, magazines, online media for opportunities for clients
  • Preparing client reports by daily, weekly, monthly
  • Developing media materials, including news releases, client meeting summaries, articles quarterly/annual report and other written materials in English and Vietnamese
  • Supporting planning, developing and implementing PR plan
  • Building and maintaining media relations
  • Preparing and supervising the production of promotional videos, photographs, and multimedia programs upon request;
  • Supporting  organizing and managing client events, including press conferences, media tour,  promotional client events
  • Managing vendors to control production quality  on behalf of client
  • Collating, analyzing and measuring coverage outcomes

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proactive, quick minded, attention to details personality
  • Good copy writing skill
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese
  • Have the interest and drive to learn how to master the core skills and capabilities needed to deliver all aspects of a campaign
  • Design experience would be an advantage
  • Related experience in agency environment preferred
  • Willing to travel when requested

 

 

 

ACCOUNT MANAGER

This position is a key member of the team involving and managing multiple client accounts. While leading and supervising junior staff’s workload, Consultant (or as Account Manager) will be also seen directly managing (or supporting Senior Consultant with) wide range of clients, handling their public reputation through different PR campaigns.

Experience:  A minimum of 3-5 year PR experience in working in Corporate or Agency

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Structuring and implementing PR campaigns and media content, aligning them with the client’s key business objectives
  • Develop media materials, including news releases, articles and other written materials
  • Develop and maintain relationship with media network
  • Liaise with clients and act as key point of contact in support of senior consultants
  • Identify new business opportunities, and sell ideas, promotions and features to clients
  • Manage workloads of multiple projects
  • Organize and manage client events, including press conferences, media tour, promotional client events
  • Manage and supervise the production of promotional videos, photographs, and multimedia programmes upon request;
  • Supervise Account Executive’s workload, provide leadership and direction to the team on key activities and campaigns.
  • Keep track of impending deadlines and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work is completed on time and within budget
  • Track and reconcile project fee and expense budgets
  • Assist in the reporting, analysis and evaluation of PR campaigns
  • Monitor news on newspapers, magazines, online media for opportunities for clients
